The name of the exhibition “Sweet Well” comes from the little story in Tolstoy’s “The Confession”. The story and its extension have profoundly influenced my worldview and the content of creations. On the basis of this story, the works in this exhibition revolve around existentialism and nihilism, showing the real world which hides behind reality and the madness in it.
We are chained, but looking for the way of freedom; although like Sisyphus, we still think about the meaning of existence. The absurd world doesn’t represent despair, but freedom. I hope viewers can find sobriety and freedom from absurdity.
